In mid-November I went to Pacific City for an overnight beach retreat with my photorgaphy lady friends. We meet monthly and take turns arranging tutorials, attend conferences and seminars together and every once in a while we have a retreat. We go intending to play and relax and have some girl time and we always end up hashing out business, technical or marketing issues that we've run into. Someone's always got some good advice or feedback and every time it proves to be a very valuable experience.
For fun we model for eachother and get some practice. I shot some maternity, bridal and vintage pics. I also modeled for maternity shots which was fun. So here is the first intstallation of my pictures from the retreat...
So I decided to experiment with maternity pictures before I take some of my sisters who are both a month less pregnant than myself. And who better to practice on than myself? Thanks to my trusty tripod and remote control operated shutter release on my Nikon, I was able to do a whole photo shoot while my toddler was taking a nap the other day. I couldn't, however, leave my house, so my background options were very limited and less than desirable.

I tried some Corel Painter on the one below...fun:).

I may look serene and at peace, but at this point I am longing for the transition of the weight going from my frontside to sleeping in my arms because the constant discomfort is wearing on me.
This last weekend I spent an afternoon with this fun family. With all the toddlers running around it reminded me of my own family gatherings-ya know, bitter-sweet chaos. Here were some of my favorites from their session.

It's been about 4 months since I did this sweet cheeky babie's newborn pictures and now she can hold her head up...
